I recently got to spend time with one of my sweet couples, Oriana and Michael, for their summertime Gratz Park Engagement Session in downtown Lexington, and it made my heart so full! One of my favorite things about working with couples is getting to hear their story, and how they ended up where they are today, and this pair’s story is one of the best. Oriana is from Louisville, and Michael from Lexington, but their worlds collided in the summer of 2011 when they met for the first time at KY GSP on Centre College’s campus. GSP, or the Governor’s Scholars Program, is a 5 week long academic summer program that takes place the summer before a student’s senior year of high school, and is a highly sought-after experience with an extensive merit-based application process. It’s no surprise that the two got into the program and clicked with one another– they’re both incredibly brilliant and kind, and complement each other so well. When the summer program ended, Oriana and Michael kept in touch and began dating shortly after. Fast forward to 2020 and they’re still in love as ever, as soon-to-be husband and wife!

I truly believe there’s something magical about summer programs and camps, and those relationship stories will always be some of my favorites!! I loved getting to stroll the historic streets of downtown Lexington, Kentucky with Oriana and Michael for their summer engagement session at Gratz Park, walking the beautiful brick sidewalks and soaking up the summer sun. I’m always excited for weddings in general, but after an engagement session that excitement soars even higher!
